Meet MATT, the ultimate device testing robot designed to physically interact with devices through replicating human input. MATT is developed to be adaptable and customizable to both devices and use-cases. Using universal Input/ Output and communication interfaces, MATT can interact with external hardware components easily and safely. MATT undertakes complex tasks by being able to integrate with any testing framework, synchronization between software testing automation and hardware input being achieved seamlessly.

With a fast-moving effector, MATT interacts with the DUT’s through 3 capacitive fingers, made to accommodate any materials and capacitive requirements. Tapping, pinching, swiping, rotating, and pressing buttons located on the front or side of device, MATT executes any multi- touch gestures. Using computer vision to recognize icons, text fields and supporting all Operating Systems, MATT performs fully automated test cycles, relieving manual testers of repetitive tasks and increasing productivity. Designed to be easily set-up, through simple, efficient procedures, MATT is right out of the box the complete device testing solution.

Performance test mobile apps and replicate every app test scenario that can be done by a human, including pop-up detection and captcha resolution. Evaluate usability, test features, identify errors, bugs, or anomalies at all stages of app development and before updates. 

Computer Vision

MATT’ s abilities allow it to engage in computer vision techniques that vary from icon detection to OCR or even recognition and dismissal of popups that interrupt a test flow. Other available computer vision steps include button position recognition, identification of highlighted menu items or screen comparisons. Every testcase developed on MATT can contain computer vision steps that provide scalability and robustness to changes for specific scenarios.

Latency measurement

MATT can contribute to the improvement of touch-to-response time calculation by integrating with high - speed cameras. Once an action is performed on the screen of the device under test, whether it is a touch or a button press, the screen and the action - response time interval are recorded. Such an estimation can provide insightful information for touch manufacturing or calibration techniques, software optimizations carried out on devices or even on game - design.

Physical Buttons

MATT can easily interact with any physical buttons, from rotary encoders to mechanical switches. MATT is designed to be adaptable to a wide range of devices, from wearables and mobile devices to home appliances and infotainment systems. For this reason, multiple addons can be mounted on the robot or on the device under test to make the interaction as smooth as possible.

Touch Calibration

Due to MATT's high precision, the robot can be used to test and calibrate any touch screen. Data sent between screen and touch controller can be monitored and touch sensitivity parameters adjusted. MATT's fingers canbe adapted to client's needs, built from various materials, in diverse shapes and diameters.Pair MATT with a high - speed camera and get touch reaction time measurements.

Multiple Devices

Depending on the dimensions of the devices, MATT can test up to 10 mobile phones, 4 tablets, or a combination of mobile devices, wearables, and electronic dashboards. This way, connectivity tests can be performed, device statistics and comparisons can be derived or simply time can be saved by setting up and testing more devices at once.

MATT Framework Software

MATT Framework allows the calibration, prototyping, development, and validation of high complexity testing scenarios. By utilizing an easy-to-use GUI typical test case code snippets - taps, swipes, camera captures, saving captures, etc. - are provided and can be previewed, modified, or executed on the spot. With its dedicated Python control, syntax highlighting and live preview, MATT supports diverse use cases through easy integration with other testing frameworks and tools.
